Closing out the week’s festivities to the International Coaching week, we welcome Dawn Phillips as our guest speaker for today’s webinar event. The theme is “Integrate,” a new perspective that opens the door for effective leadership and offers awareness on the potential integration between the leader-follower roles.
This session will explore the leader-follower dynamic. There are probably thousand books on the topic of leadership but very few on the importance of followers, and we are all followers. While this role may seem inconsequential, the role followers play makes or breaks a leader. Personal success depends equally on our followership competencies as well as our leadership competencies. If that is true, what are the characteristics of an effective follower? Are you an effective follower and even a courageous one?
This session's content is based on Ira Chaleff's book, The Courageous Follower -- Standing Up To and For Our Leaders. As coaches, how are we supporting leaders in our communities and our clients. If you are coaching someone in a leadership position, what type of followers are they cultivating? Could conflicts they experience come from their inability to challenge their leadership or do they challenge ineffectively? Do they allow team members to challenge them or do they want only staff members who always agree with them?
Join us to complete the celebration for the International Coaching Week with this thought-provoking topic and see what integrates for you!
